Almost a decade ago, Finn left a career in TV journalism to pursue his passion for veterinary nursing. Since then, he has worked extensively in general practice and held senior roles across a wide range of specialist areas, including exotics, internal medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, sports medicine and rehabilitation, and emergency and critical care.

Alongside his clinical and leadership roles, Finn has worked in veterinary education, including teaching at the Centre for Veterinary Education and working as the Nurse Coordinator for the Surgery Unit at the University of Sydney Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UVTHS). His current focus is on the clinical and technical education of veterinary nurses and students.

Finn holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Disease, Health and Welfare/Animal Production, and is currently completing a Master of Science (Zoology). He also regularly undertakes continuing education, with a particular interest in surgery, anaesthesia, pharmacology and quality-of-life care.

Looking to the future, Finn hopes to undertake a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, with the goal of providing high-level, affordable veterinary care.

When he’s not working or studying, Finn can be found outdoors enjoying nature, doing yoga, or attempting to become the world’s “most mediocre rugby player”.

Finn is also the proud owner of Juno, a Groodle who may occasionally make a guest appearance at work!
